Two Army Officers Attacked, Female Friend Raped Near Picnic Spot in Madhya Pradesh

Two young Indian Army officers and two of the women went on a picnic in Indore district of the Madhya Pradesh state, the men said they were beaten, while one of the women was allegedly raped by unknown men

Two Army Officers Attacked: Two young Indian Army officers and two of the women went on a picnic in Indore district of the Madhya Pradesh state on Wednesday, and the men said they were beaten, while one of the women was allegedly raped by unknown men, PTI quoted the police.

Badgonda police station in-charge Lokendra Singh Hirore said that 23-24 years old two young officers were studying at the Infantry School in Mhow cantonment town and they too went out for a picnic with two girls on Tuesday.

According to the PTI, around 2 am on Wednesday around 6-7 attackers ambushed a group of officers and a female friend who were at the picnic spot on Mhow-Mandleshwar road and the attackers started assaulting this woman and one of the officers in the car.

The other officer and the woman who were on a hilltop came running they heard the noise.

The Times of India newspaper reported the ordeal citing the complaint filed with the police by one of the officers, the attackers held the couple they had attacked in the car at gun point.

They also instructed the other officer to come with ₹10 lakh in form of ransom The rest of the proceedings were dramatic. After that, the officer was able to succeed in this to tell his elders in Mhow, who in turn alerted the police. A police team was taken to that scene, but by the time pounce was made the assailants had fled the scene.

The Army officers and their female friends were taken to Mhow civil hospital were a medical check up established that one of the women was raped.

The Times of India also said that The case has been registered under sections 70 (gangrape), 310-2 (dacoity), 308-2 (extortion) and 115-2 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and under sections of the Arms Act by filing a complaint lodged by the said officer.

In an interview with the newspaper, Additional superintendent of police Rupesh Dwivedi said that six persons had been suspected as of now. Of them, two have been arrested.

“We arrested two men. One of them has a case of loot registered against him in 2016. This was not an organised gang. They saw these young people who had gathered at a night spot and decided to attack them. One person also had a pistol on him,” Vasal said.
