The Ukrainian president said Kyiv was ready for real solutions that would bring peace but any solutions without Ukraine would be against peace. “Any decisions against us, any decisions without Ukraine, are also decisions against peace. They will achieve nothing,” he said, adding that the war “cannot be ended without us, without Ukraine”.
Trump hasn’t seen Putin in person since he got back to the White House in January.
The Kremlin said on Saturday that they invited Trump to visit Russia after the summit with Putin in Alaska next Friday.

"Looking ahead, it is natural to hope that the next meeting between the presidents will be held on Russian territory. A corresponding invitation has already been sent to the US president," Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said.
"It seems quite logical that our delegation should simply fly across the Bering Strait and that such an important and eagerly awaited summit between the leaders of the two countries should be held in Alaska."
In his remarks on Friday, Trump said a ceasefire deal between Ukraine and Russia would involve territory swaps between the two countries.
"There'll be some swapping of territories to the betterment of both," Trump said.
Since Russia’s full scale invasion in February 2022, Ukraine has refused to give up any of its territory in exchange for a ceasefire. Tens of thousands have been killed since Moscow launched the invasion, millions have fled their homes in eastern and southern Ukraine.

Three sets of talks between Russia and Ukraine have failed to produce any results and it’s unclear if a Trump-Putin meeting will bring a ceasefire. Putin has rejected multiple calls from the US, Europe and Kyiv for a ceasefire.
Trump said if it wasn’t for him the war between Ukraine and Russia would have been a World War.
"I stopped that, that's stopped," he said.
Last month Trump gave Putin an ultimatum to agree to a ceasefire or face secondary sanctions with the deadline set for this Friday. That deadline is still in place despite the summit plans although the White House hasn’t said what secondary measures they would take.
Trump did hit India with a 25% tariff hike for buying Russian oil this week, singling out one of Moscow’s economic enablers in a move that New Delhi called unfair and selective.
Trump has been getting frustrated with Putin in public for months as the war has dragged on for three years and Putin continues to launch nightly missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian cities despite Trump’s claim he could make a deal within 24 hours of becoming president.
“Putin … talks nice and then he bombs everybody in the evening,” Trump said last month. “So there’s a little bit of a problem there.”
