Sunny Deol & Varun Dhawan’s Border 2 Teaser Gets U/A Certificate: Border 2, the much awaited war drama starring Sunny Deol and an ensemble cast including Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty has cleared a major hurdle before its release. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given the green signal to the film’s first teaser.

According to reports, CBFC cleared the film’s Date Announcement Teaser No. 1 – Border 2 on August 7. The teaser is 1 minute 10 seconds long and is U/A 16+.

This is interesting timing. It’s just a day before Independence Day and we are sure the teaser will be out on August 15 as per the reports. A source shared with Bollywood Hungama, “Border 2 is a film that embodies patriotism, and what better occasion than August 15 to launch its teaser? The teaser will provide a sneak peek into the film and its India vs Pakistan theme. Additionally, it will confirm that the film is on track for release on January 23, 2026, coinciding with the Republic Day celebrations.”

Once the teaser is out, it will be released in all the cinemas across the country. Multiplexes will be playing it with War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR which is one of the biggest releases of the month.

As per Pinkvilla, the Border 2 team will start their promotional campaign with an almost minute-long announcement video. A source close to the development shared with the portal, “Anurag Singh has cut a 1-minute announcement video with Sunny Deol, which encapsulates the India–Pakistan rivalry and the spirit of Border 2. With the teaser, the makers plan to reannounce and confirm the Republic Day 2026 release date. The announcement teaser drops on August 15, 2025."

The announcement teaser will have a digital launch but will be attached with War 2 in multiplexes. “The producers have done a back-end deal with the national multiplex chains to screen the Border 2 teaser with War 2, and everyone has willingly agreed to do the same," the source added.

The film is directed by J.P. Dutta and helmed by Anurag Singh who has delivered super hit films like Kesari and Punjab 1984.
