Delhi woke up to heavy rains on Saturday morning, causing traffic disruptions and waterlogging in several areas. RK Puram, Dwarka, Shastri Bhawan, Kidwai Nagar and Moti Bagh were among the areas that received heavy downpour.
Indian Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in Delhi, including North Delhi, West Delhi, South Delhi, South East Delhi and Central Delhi for very heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning and thunderstorm. Waterlogging was witnessed at Panchkuian Marg, Minto Road and Mathura Road and Bharat Mandapam’s Gate no. 7 which was waterlogged in the early hours of Saturday, ANI reported.

For Delhi NCR, a red alert has been issued in Ghaziabad while a yellow alert has been issued in Gautambudhnagar for thunderstorms and lightning.
According to PTI, the weather will be partly cloudy throughout the day with maximum temperature between 24-26 degrees Celsius. IMD said the maximum temperature in the city was 36.2 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal, on Friday. The minimum was 26.8 degrees Celsius, 0.1 degree below the seasonal average, the office added.

The city’s relative humidity was 69 per cent at 8.30 am and 56 per cent at 5.30 pm on Friday. There was no rain on Friday. Delhi’s air quality index was 116 on Friday, added the PTI report.
According to CPCB, an AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 and 200 ‘moderate’, 201 and 300 ‘poor’, 301 and 400 ‘very poor’ and 401 and 500 ‘severe’.
For Haryana, an orange alert has been issued in Palwal, Gurgaon and Faridabad for moderate to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.IMD warns of more rain in HP, Orange Alert for 2 days in 3 districts, Yellow Alert for rest.
