Trisha Krishnan Reunites with Suriya After 2 Decades for RJ Balaji’s Film

Trisha Krishnan Reunites with Suriya: It has been weeks of speculation and it is now official that Trisha Krishnan will star in RJ Balaji's upcoming movie along with Suriya. The announcement was made by the director while congratulating Trisha for completing 22 years in the film industry.

Just a few days ago, pictures of Trisha and Suriya popped up online, apparently taken during their current film shoot. Fans are excited about seeing the duo take to acting again after two decades. Balaji congratulated Trisha on completing 22 years in cinema, writing on X (formerly Twitter), “Congratulations on 22 glorious years, @trishtrashers And we are elated to start the 23rd year with #Suriya45.”

Dream Warrior Pictures also released footage of Suriya and Balaji making the big deal about Trisha's birthday by making a cake on sets. The video had Trisha relaying that it has come "one full circle," and "honour" to be working with him again.

It is yet to be announced what role Trisha will play in the film, but some leaked pictures from the film's set indicate that Trisha and Suriya may be playing lawyers.

Trisha and Suriya acted together in the romantic drama Mounam Pesiyadhe in 2002. The duo was also seen in the action film titled Aaru in 2005. They appeared together in Mani Ratnam's 2004 film Aaytha Ezhuthu, but were not cast pair-wise for the movie. Suriya has a cameo in Trisha's 2010 film Manmadan Ambu, which also stars Kamal Haasan and R Madhavan.

Trisha kicked off her journey as a lead actress with Mounam Pesiyadhe; the film released on December 13, 2002. The actor celebrated the milestone by dropping a picture on her Instagram and writing, "Honoured to be part of this magic called cinema for 22 years. Thank you all. 13.12."

Apart from Suriya 45, Trisha is also working with Ajith in Vidaamuyarchi and Good Bad Ugly, Chiranjeevi in Vishwambhara, Kamal Haasan in Thug Life, Tovino Thomas in Identity, and more. It was also the 2004 Telugu film Varsham that starred Prabhas and turned her into an overnight sensation.
