As Lok Sabha elections approach, it has joined forces with the BJP to arrest the former's leaders.
Trinamool Congress has claimed an "unfolding alliance" between the BJP and NIA.
Trinamool Alleges Alliance Between BJP and NIA: After the attack on a team of the anti-terror agency on April 6 in Bhupatinagar in Bengal, the Trinamool Congress has claimed an "unfolding alliance" between the BJP and NIA. The NIA, however, has denied any ill intentions, calling the attack "completely unprovoked".
As Lok Sabha elections approach, it has joined forces with the BJP to arrest the former's leaders.
Following a complaint filed by the wife of an arrested TMC leader, the state police have booked NIA officials for alleged molestation of women following the Bhupatinagar incident in East Midnapore. She alleges that the agency sleuths misbehaved and "molested" women during the raid.
NIA officials were attacked by villagers in Bhupatinagar, East Midnapore district, where they were investigating a blast case at the residence of a local TMC leader from 2022.
A complaint has been filed against NIA officials by the wife of an arrested Trinamool Congress leader for alleged molestation during the raid.
Moni Jana filed a complaint against the NIA, alleging it violated her modesty by forcibly entering her residence on Saturday under the pretext of conducting an investigation. They also vandalized her residence, according to the complaint.
West Bengal Police have filed an FIR against NIA officers under IPC Section 354 (for assaulting any woman, with an intent to outrage her modesty), but no arrests have been made.
NIA officials asserted Saturday's attack on their team was "completely unprovoked" and denied allegations of "mala fide intention" after the TMC accused the federal probe agency of working for the BJP.
"The Trinamool Congress wants to destroy our legal system and the Constitution," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at an election rally in Jalpaiguri.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked the TMC and BJP over the incident in Purba Medinipur district, claiming that the party of Mamata Banerjee orchestrated attacks against central investigative agencies to protect its extortionists and corrupt leaders at a rally in Jalpaiguri.
Meanwhile, Mamata Banerjee, chief minister of Bengal and supremo of the Trinamool Congress, accused central agencies of working for the BJP. She said, "Agencies like NIA, ED, and CBI...are carrying out raids without prior notice, and barging into houses. What would women do if someone entered their home at night while everyone was asleep?"

According to Abhishek Banerjee, there is an "unholy alliance" between the NIA and the BJP, and the Election Commission has been conspicuously silent.
The NIA team was attacked after arresting two people in connection with the case in the wee hours of Saturday morning, according to a police officer.
As part of its announcement on Sunday, the NIA refuted any allegations that the raid on April 6 was motivated by ill intentions. It called the attack on its team "unfortunate" and "completely unprovoked", adding that the raids were "bona fide, lawful and legally mandated.".
Mamata Banerjee is trying to instigate hooligans against central agencies, says BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari. He said that he has "full faith in NIA" and that she is under pressure and afraid of issues such as unemployment, Sandeshkahli, and corruption.
Suvendu Adhikari challenged Abhishek Banerjee to publish video footage of a senior BJP leader meeting the NIA Superintendent on his allegations of meeting the NIA Superintendent."The register they had shown is not associated with Jitendra Tiwari. It was not his handwriting, he is our party colleague, we know that. He (Abhishek) claimed that he had video footage. I am challenging him to publish that video footage," Suvendu Adhikari said.
A few days after the incident, Mamata Banerjee blamed the NIA personnel for “provoking” the villagers by attacking women, resulting in an attack on their vehicle. In a poll rally on Sunday, Banerjee said, “They are conducting raids without prior information and barging into houses. What would women do if someone broke into their house when everyone was asleep at night?”
