Delhi Excise Policy Case: AAP Manish Sisodia Judicial Custody Extended Until April 18

AAP Manish Sisodia's Judicial Custody Extended Until April 18: In a money laundering case linked to the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy, a Delhi court on Saturday extended Manish Sisodia's judicial custody until April 18.
When Manish Sisodia was brought before the court after the judicial custody granted earlier expired, Special Judge Kaveri Baweja extended his judicial custody. Sanjay Singh, a co-accused who was recently granted bail by the Supreme Court in the case, also appeared before the court.
In the aftermath of his arrest, Kejriwal accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of using the ED and CBI in a "political conspiracy" to unseat his government.
The ED has not made any firm allegations against him in its report, so there is no reason to arrest him, he said in court on March 28.

On February 28, 2023, Sisodia resigned from the Delhi cabinet.
It has been alleged that the Enforcement Directorate has not been able to prove that the money trail leads back to him. His lawyer has told the court that since the allegations against him have not been proven, he is entitled to bail.
It has been alleged by both the CBI and the ED that irregularities were committed during the modification of the Delhi Excise Policy, undue favours were extended to license holders, licence fees were waived or reduced, and licenses were extended without prior approval of the competent authority.
The day before his bail hearing, Manish Sisodia wrote to the public from inside Tihar Jail, comparing his plight with the atrocities committed by the British against freedom fighters.
In the excise policy case, the ED wants Kejriwal to face some of the accused face-to-face. The ED has extended Kejriwal's custody to analyze his mobile phone.
On March 9, 2023, the ED arrested Manish Sisodia while he was in judicial custody.
