Actor Tamannaah Bhatia, in a subtle and cryptic way came out to support Deepika Padukone during what's been referred to as the, "MediaRani" uproar over Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit. She liked an Instagram reel that lists women's issues including gender pay gaps, working overtime, unprofessionalism, and misogyny.
Tamannaah Bhatia likes the reel
The reel is a throwback video from 2020, of the press conference Deepika Padukone did to promote Chhapaak. And, Deepika is seen confronting a reporter when they asked if Ranveer Singh has invested in her production company Chhapaak. After the video, she stated that some women are too stupid to realize when they are being manipulated.

For More context, the video is from a conference where she is promoting her production company called Chhapaak in 2020 and was regarding a reporter telling Deepika that Ranveer Singh had provided an investment into the film. She was amused with the statement and said, “Excuse me, yeh mere khud ke paise hain. Kisne bola yeh? (Who said this to you? This is my money) Excuse me, It is my own money”.
The reel comes with the text, “Propaganda she is not falling for: Disrespect, men, sexism, gender pay gap, working overtime, unprofessionalism, misogyny, and double standards”.
This comes at a time when all the blame of being unprofessional is directed towards Deepika by bloggers and comments on social media. Which sparked an unexpected debate about the welfare of actors and the need to advocate some standard hours.
Tamannaah liking a reel that highlights women's rights issues appears to relatedly aligned to a public support that upholds there view of Deepika's perspective.
About the Deepika and Sandeep controversy
As per multiple reports citing "unprofessional" demands as the reason for her exit, Deepika's public relations and spirit took a turn. Bollywood Hungama quoted a source as saying, “Sandeep Reddy Vanga got the shock of his life when Deepika Padukone refused to shoot for more than six hours a day for Spirit. That’s not all—the actress, via her agency, also began to demand amendments to the contract. Their main contention was simple: if the shoot extended beyond 100 days, Deepika would need to be paid extra for every single day beyond the agreed schedule”.

Sandeep went on social media to speak on the speculation such as his mention of a previous report by Pinkvilla on Spirit's plot and details, and alluded it was Deepika who leaked it. On the other hand, he covered a report that said Triptii Dimri would be "pushing boundaries" in the project.
Tamannaah in news for her brand deal
Tamannaah has been appointed by the Karnataka government as brand ambassador for Mysore Sandal Soap as part of a ₹6.20 crore two-year deal, which was only recently announced. Nevertheless, the move has drawn backlash, with comments about why a Kannada actor was not chosen. MB Patil, Minister for Commerce & Industries, Infrastructure GoK, defended the action.
Her previous project before this was Odela 2, which was a supernatural thriller, where she was cast in the role of a sadhvi. Odela Railway Station was a crime thriller, but Odela 2 also starred Hebah Patel, she was the female lead in the last project, and took a supernatural route. Tamannaah's character Shiva Shakthi goes into Odela, a village under protection of a God named Odela Mallanna Swamy, to fight an evil that claims to control the five elements.
