Sports Optimism On Non-Cricket Sports sees a high In India, As Conversations Around Cricket See A Significant Dip

New Delhi: Optimism for Indian Sports specifically for non-cricket sports saw a significant rise with over 7 Million conversations around Tokyo Olympics 2020, with India just a week into the Worlds biggest event. Over 55% Millennials followed by over 28% GenZ were amongst the Indian audiences that significantly engaged in conversations around Olympics, as per a pan-India study of online conversations starting from Day 1 (July 23rd 2021), across all demographics on #Tokyo2020, conducted by farm-insights, a fast growing online conversation analytics and insights based start-up catering to various brands in the country.

Emotions expressing lost, tough, defeated, good were amongst the highest during the conversations indicating how India pinned their hope on the athletes to get medals.

 The Indian Flag was used the most during conversations, followed by  boxing and  2nd place medal. Audience from Delhi and Maharashtra followed and engaged the most which was followed by Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The study showed a clear gender disparity as only 23% from the Indian audience who actively participated in the conversation were women. More than 55% audience that engaged in the conversations were all ‘Millennials’.
