Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has responded to the statement made by the Pakistan Board (PCB) not to send the Pakistani team to India in the 'World Cup' to be held in India next year. Anurag Thakur said about this, 'It is a matter of BCCI and they will comment on this matter. India is a sports superpower, where many World Cups have been organized. The ODI World Cup will also be held in India next year and all the big teams from all over the world will take part in it.

The Sports Minister further said in his statement that, 'You cannot ignore India in any sport. India has contributed a lot to sports, especially cricket. Therefore, the World Cup will be organized next year, and it will be a grand and historic event. Anurag Thakur gave his opinion on all these things at the time of announcement of Khelo India Youth 2022 held in New Delhi. In his statement, he also said that, 'The safety of the players is paramount. The Home Ministry will decide whether the Indian cricket team will participate in the 2023 Asia Cup in Pakistan.

Jay Shah had talked about holding the Asia Cup in the neutral venue, after which the statement came from the PCB. The PCB had said that if the Indian team does not come to play the Asia Cup, the PCB will not send its team for the ODI World Cup to be held in India in 2023. The PCB says that the Asia Cup will be held in Pakistan only. If India does not come to Pakistan to play the Asia Cup, then Pakistan will not go to India to play the World Cup. The Pakistani board has said that Jay Shah has made such statements without any conversation which can divide world cricket among themselves.
