Shani Jayanti is observed to celebrate the birth of Lord Shani Devi, she is the god of Karma and Justice. Shani Dev is the follower of Lord Shiva and is the son of Surya Dev and Swarna (Chhaaya).

Lord Shani Devi will bless those people who will worship Lord Shiva.

There is a story that says that Ravana caught Lord Shani Dev and locked him up and then Lord Hanuman came to set him free and saved him.

Thus since then, people have believed that those who worship Lord Hanuman get blessings from Lord Shani Devi.

• People should wake up early and start their day with an early bath.
• After that, light up a diya in front of the figure of Lord Shani Dev.
• Say the Shani Stotram and Shani Beej Mantra are said in front of the image.
• On the eve of Shani Jayanti, people also worship the peepal tree to get rid of Shani's anger.
