Seventh Bridge Collapse in Bihar Siwan District: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also said that he has instructed the Road Construction Department (RCD) and Rural Works Department (RWD) to investigate all the bridges in Bihar and find out which bridge needs immediate repairing.

Seventh Bridge Collapse in Bihar Siwan District: A second incident of bridge collapse takes place in Bihar’s Siwan District on Wednesday, June 3.
Thus rising concerns about the poor conditions of infrastructure in Bihar as this will mark the seventh bridge collapse incident in the past 15 days.
It was a small bridge in Deoria block and was used by many people in the Siwan District, the bridge connects several towns to Mahrajganj.
The small bridge collapsed and fell over the Gandaki River however no one was injured.

India Today reported that so far 3 bridges have collapsed in the Siwan District, one in Sikandarpur, another one in the bhikhabandh, and the last one in Deoria village.
Deputy Development Commissioner Mukesh Kumar said the officers are investigating the bridge to find out the reason behind its collapse.
He said, “A portion of a bridge in Deoria block collapsed this morning. The exact cause is not known so far. Senior officials of the block have reached the spot and I am also going there.”
The Deputy Development Commissioner further added, “The incident took place around 5 am. As per initial information, the bridge was constructed in 1982-83. Repair work was going on the bridge for the last few days.”

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also said that he has instructed the Road Construction Department (RCD) and Rural Works Department (RWD) to investigate all the bridges in Bihar and find out which bridge needs immediate repairing.
Village people said that because of the continuous rainfall for the past few days could be the reason behind the collapse of such bridges in Bihar.
This marks the seventh such bridge collapse incident in Bihar in the past 11 days. Several incidents of bridge collapse were reported in Araria, Siwan, Kisanganj, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, and Saran districts of Bihar.
Such incidents might have not caused any casualties but this shows the poor quality of work of the government and the committee. However, the Bihar government has instructed the official departments to look thoroughly into the incident and find a solution for it.
