PM Modi Speaks to Elon Musk Ahead of Tesla’s India Entry: On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that he had a conversation with Tesla CEO Elon Musk regarding different concerns which were also topics of discussions that had been adopted during the PM's recent visit to the United States in early 2023.

“Spoke to Elon Musk and talked about various issues, including the topics we covered during our meeting in Washington DC earlier this year,” Modi wrote on X.

“We discussed the immense potential for collaboration in the areas of technology and innovation. India remains committed to advancing our partnerships with the US in these domains.”

Modi had met Musk, one of the wealthiest entrepreneurs whose businesses also include SpaceX, in February while he was in the United States on a two-day visit.

Musk was also joined by three of his children at the Blair House, which serves as the US President's guest house, where the Prime Minister stayed.

"Discussed space, mobility, technologies and innovation with Elon Musk," Modi wrote on X after the meeting.

As per the official graft of the MEA, Modi and Musk discussed intensified cooperation between Indian and US entities in innovation, space exploration, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development.

"Their discussion also touched on opportunities to deepen cooperation in emerging technologies, entrepreneurship and good governance,” the statement added.

Before meeting with Musk in Washington, PM Modi had met him twice in 2015 in California and once again in New York in 2023.

He is known to be one of the highly influential individuals in the Donald Trump administration, while currently heading a Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) which aims at slashing federal government costs and reducing the federal workforce.
