The visit by PM Modi comes ahead of the Assembly elections which are to be held later this year.
As part of his endeavour to boost connectivity and infrastructure, PM Modi dedicated several rail projects to the nation. This includes automatic signalling between Samastipur-Bachhwara rail line which will enable smooth train operations in this section. Doubling of Darbhanga-Thalwara and Samastipur-Rambhadrapur rail lines is part of Darbhanga-Samastipur doubling project worth over Rs 580 crore which will increase the capacity of train operations and reduce delays.
According to IRCTC, Sleeper Class fare of Patna-New Delhi Amrit Bharat Express is ₹560 which is slightly higher than the average fare of ₹520 of almost all other trains running on the same route in sleeper class.
Railway officials say the slight increase in fare compared to existing fare structure is due to services and facilities that the passenger will get with jerk-free ride on Amrit Bharat Express.
