PM Modi Flags Off 4 Amrit Bharat Trains in Bihar | Development Projects Inaugurated

PM Modi Flags Off 4 Amrit Bharat Trains in Bihar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday flagged off four new Amrit Bharat Express trains. These new trains will further strengthen the rail connectivity in Bihar.

Amrit Bharat trains will provide affordable service and high quality travel experience to people in lower income and lower middle income category. Developed by Chennai-based Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Amrit Bharat trains also provide comprehensive services to people at very low cost.

The new routes are Rajendra Nagar Terminal (Patna) to New Delhi, Bapudham Motihari to Anand Vihar Terminal (Delhi), Darbhanga to Lucknow (Gomti Nagar) and Malda Town to Lucknow (Gomti Nagar) via Bhagalpur.

Indian Railways said these non-AC Amrit Bharat Express trains offer upgraded facilities at low fares, specifically for middle class and economically weaker passengers.

With the addition of these routes, Bihar now has six operational Amrit Bharat services, further integrating the state with key cities across northern India.

All these trains pass through Bihar and two of them connect Bihar with Delhi.

For inaugural run, a special Amrit Bharat Express will depart Rajendra Nagar Terminal at 11:45 am on July 18 and will arrive in New Delhi at 4:00 pm on July 19.

Another special return service train will leave New Delhi at 6:00 pm on July 19 and will reach Rajendra Nagar Terminal at 11:45 pm on July 20.

The new non-AC Patna-New Delhi Amrit Bharat Express (Train no 22361/22362) will run regular from July 31, said Northern Railway.

PM Modi also handed over keys to some beneficiaries as part of Griha Pravesh ceremony for 12,000 beneficiaries and released over Rs 160 crore to 40,000 beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin.

He also released Rs 400 crore to around 61,500 Self-Help Groups in Bihar under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM). With a special focus on women-led development, over 10 crore women have been connected to Self-Help Groups (SHGs).

The visit by PM Modi comes ahead of the Assembly elections which are to be held later this year.

As part of his endeavour to boost connectivity and infrastructure, PM Modi dedicated several rail projects to the nation. This includes automatic signalling between Samastipur-Bachhwara rail line which will enable smooth train operations in this section. Doubling of Darbhanga-Thalwara and Samastipur-Rambhadrapur rail lines is part of Darbhanga-Samastipur doubling project worth over Rs 580 crore which will increase the capacity of train operations and reduce delays.

According to IRCTC, Sleeper Class fare of Patna-New Delhi Amrit Bharat Express is ₹560 which is slightly higher than the average fare of ₹520 of almost all other trains running on the same route in sleeper class.

Railway officials say the slight increase in fare compared to existing fare structure is due to services and facilities that the passenger will get with jerk-free ride on Amrit Bharat Express.
