PM Modi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has claimed on Monday that within the last year or so, his government has given around 10 lakh permanent jobs in the government sector to the youth. Along with this, he also handed over appointment letters to more than 71,000 newly appointed employees.
Addressing the recruits at a Rozgar Mela via video conferencing, PM Modi said, "Through the Rozgar Mela, we are continuously working in this direction. For the past 10 years, there has been a campaign in various government ministries, departments, and institutions to provide government jobs. Even today, over 71,000 youth have been appointed."

"In the last 1-1.5 years, almost 10 lakh youths have been given permanent government jobs by our government. This is a very big record in itself. In the tenure of any previous government, youths have not got permanent jobs in the Government of India in such a way in the mission board. But today, not only are lakhs of youths getting government jobs but these jobs are being given with complete honesty and transparency," he added.
Further the prime minister extended his wishes to the newly recruited stating that, "I have had many professional discussions with the youth of India in Kuwait. After coming here, my first program is with the youth of the country. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the youth and their families," he said, news agency ANI reported.
Further, PM said that in earlier times, language had become a major barrier for youths belonging to rural, Dalit, Backward, and Tribal communities. His government provided a policy to teach in the mother tongue and have examinations conducted in the same.
"Today, our government is offering youth the option to take recruitment exams in 13 different languages," he added.
He also noted that a large number of recruits were women, and said, "Your success will inspire other women. Our effort is to make women self-reliant in every sector. The decision to provide 26 weeks of maternity leave has saved the careers of millions of daughters. Our government has worked to remove every barrier that prevented women from advancing."

"Today, most of the houses under the 'PM Awas Yojana' are registered in the names of women," he added.
On the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Charan Singh, the premier paid tribute at the altar of devotion to rural development. He also remembered his concern over the country's development.
PM Modi said, "Chaudhary Sahab used to say that India will progress only when the rural areas of India progress. Today, in the policies and decisions of our government, new opportunities for employment and self-employment are being created in rural India as well."
"Look at the policies of the past decade--Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, Startup India, Standup India, Digital India--each of these programs was designed with the youth at the centre. India has changed its policies in the space sector, boosted manufacturing in the defence sector, and the biggest beneficiaries of these changes are the youth," he added.
