Over 100 Vehicles Stranded Between Solang And Atal Tunnel: Fresh snow has turned Shimla and Manali into winter wonderlands and tourists are flocking to enjoy the snow. However, the heaviest snowfall of the season has caused significant disruptions in Manali, with over 1,000 vehicles stranded between Solang Nala and the Atal Tunnel.
Local authorities, including the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), and Station House Officer (SHO), are present at the site, coordinating rescue operations.
As of now, 700 vehicles have been cleared.
A video of the traffic jam in Manali has surfaced on social media. Efforts are being made to clear the blocked roads and help stranded tourists as the region has experienced one of the heaviest snowfalls in recent years. A large number of tourists who had come to celebrate Christmas and New Year added to the chaos making it tough for both tourists and rescue teams.
In the video, a cop standing in the snow says to the drivers “Sabash, chaliye sabash” to keep the traffic moving. Another person is seen putting soil in front of the cars to prevent them from skidding on the snow-covered road.
The snow has delighted many but is frustrating for the travelers stuck in the jam. The sheer number of tourists and snow-covered roads have overwhelmed the infrastructure of the popular winter destination. Authorities are working hard to manage the aftermath of the snow.
