Opposition Stages Unique Protest in Parliament: Congress MPs, led by Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, staged an odd protest today in Parliament.
The MPs donned jackets with the slogan "Modi-Adani ek hain" (Modi and Adani are one) demanding a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) probe into allegations against billionaire Gautam Adani.
This demand for investigation comes after United States prosecutors leveled charges of bribery fraud against Adani and his nephew.

Rahul, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, emphasized the alleged close relationship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Adani during the protest.
Other opposition MPs who joined the demonstration echoed the same sentiment.
This was part of a bigger scheme by several INDIA bloc parties for demanding accountability regarding accusations against Adani.
Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Shiv Sena (UBT), Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), and Left parties are to name a few.
These, however, did not include the notable absence from Trinamool Congress and Samajwadi Party.
After the charges filed by the US Department of Justice, the Congress has now intensified its attack against both the Adani Group and the government.

The charges accuse Gautam Adani and his associates of paying $265 million in bribes to obtain solar electricity contracts.
The Adani Group has rejected the allegations as "baseless."
In spite of these protests, winter sessions in Parliament suffered disruptions during the debate over different issues like the Adani issue.
Prime Minister Modi's presence in House sessions is also being demanded by the opposition leaders to discuss these matters.
This protest comes on the back of Rahul being denied access to Sambhal district in Uttar Pradesh by officials.
Accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of suppression of dissent through police and termed the move as unconstitutional.
