Inside ‘Ananta’: Google’s Massive New Bengaluru Campus, One of Its Largest Worldwide

Inside ‘Ananta’: Google has launched its newest campus, Ananta, in Bengaluru, marking a significant milestone in the tech giant’s commitment to India. The sprawling campus, one of Google’s largest globally, is designed to drive innovation and collaboration, embodying the company’s forward-thinking approach to workplace design.

Ananta, meaning ‘infinite’ or ‘limitless’ in Sanskrit, symbolises Google’s vision of boundless potential through technology. The campus stands as a testament to India’s strategic importance in the global tech landscape, offering advanced infrastructure to support Google’s growing workforce and its mission to build solutions in India for the world.

It will house various teams such as that of Android, Search, Pay, Cloud, Maps, Play and Deepmind, among others.

India has always played the role of a strategic nerve centre in the tech discourse, the company said, adding that this is "evident in the thriving startup and app ecosystems, the digital public infrastructure that's transforming life for hundreds of millions of Indians, and the depth and diversity of Indian creators."

"Today, we are excited to share another major milestone in our ongoing commitment to India, with the inauguration of Ananta -- one of Google's largest offices globally," Google announced in a blog post.

Ananta is designed to connect people in ways that spark breakthrough ideas and innovation. The building’s sculpted form is more than striking architecture—it improves views, provides access to natural light, and creates an intimate layout for teams to come together.

Each working floor in Ananta is organized like a city grid, with a network of streets for easy navigation. Individual ‘neighborhoods’ foster collaboration while also giving individuals the freedom to focus within smaller nooks and booths.

At the heart of the building is a vast gathering space called Sabha, for community and conversation.

Google said in a blog post, "For two decades, we have been proud to play a role in facilitating this transformation further – through AI-powered flood forecasting, specialized AI models to catch tuberculosis early, and helping millions of people join the formal economy with Google Pay, to name just a few examples. Increasingly, we have been building from India, for the world. Today, we are excited to share another major milestone in our ongoing commitment to India, with the inauguration of Ananta – one of Google's largest offices globally."
