Professor Karen Backer of the University of British Columbia told Vox that a research team in Germany has learned to decode non-human voices. They are detecting the wobbling of bees and the low-frequency sounds of elephants with the help of AI. With this, not only will we be able to talk to animals, but we will also be able to control them.

Backer further said that AI technology that talks to animals can be further applied to robots, which will promote communication between the two species. This in itself is a huge success, but it also raises important ethical questions.

Backer says that with the help of new technology, we can get a sense of control of wild animals or manipulate their lives. Humans have not been able to completely domesticate wild animals so far, but dominating them can become our aim.
