Modi 3.0 Cabinet Unveiled: Key Ministers Retain Portfolios, JP Nadda Reappointed as Health Minister

There were 30 Ministers of State and 7 cabinet ministers who couldn't find a spot in the newly elected Union Council. The new Council of Members is made up of 36 Ministers of State, 5 Ministers of State (Independent Charge), and 30 cabinet members.

Modi 3.0 Cabinet Unveiled, Key Ministers Retain Portfolios

Modi 3.0 Cabinet Unveiled: Narendra Modi took the swearing-in ceremony as prime minister for the third time on Sunday evening along with 71 ministers. The 71 ministers were assigned to their portfolios in a cabinet meeting in Delhi on June 10, Monday.

The cabinet meeting was held at PM Modi's residence and many BJP leaders will return to power again and will serve under Modi 3.0 administration.

Among the 71 ministers let’s take a look at important ministers who have again retained their Portfolios and will serve PM Narendra Modi for the third time.

Modi 3.0 Cabinet Unveiled: Key Ministers Retain Portfolios

  • Amit Shah has retained his portfolio again as Minister of Home Affairs; and Minister of Cooperation.
  • Rajnath Singh has been retained as Defense Minister.
  • Nirmala Sitharaman retained her portfolio again as Finance Minister and Corporate Affairs.
  • JP Nadda was reappointed as the Health Minister of India.
  • S Jaishankar also has retained his position as External Affairs Minister.
  • Ashwini Vaishnaw who is the Union Minister of Railways and Minister of Electronics and Information Technology has retained his portfolio and also PM Modi has appointed him as the Minister of Information and Broadcasting.
  • Piyush Goyal has retained his portfolio as Minister of Commerce and Industry.
  • Nitin Gadkari will continue his portfolio as the Minister for Road Transport & Highways.
  • Sarbananda Sonowal, BJP leader has retained the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.
  • Hardeep Singh Puri has again been appointed as the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
  • Bhupender Yadav has maintained his portfolio as the minister of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change.

There were 30 Ministers of State and 7 cabinet ministers who couldn't find a spot in the newly elected Union Council.

The new Council of Members is made up of 36 Ministers of State, 5 Ministers of State (Independent Charge), and 30 cabinet members.

Thus, the cabinet meeting on June 10 reflects a mix of continuity and change, how the key ministers hold their positions and new faces are joining the Union Cabinet to bring innovation.
