Long ago, it was Vidya Balan, whose days of struggles lifted her much in joy when she was offered a movie Chakram co-starring with South superstar Mohanlal. She had had a time when she had signed 12 films in just six months. But doom befell her; when there was a clash between Mohanlal and the director, they stopped the movie abruptly and never completed it; Vidya was blamed for the failure, and the media referred to her as "unlucky."
Vidya Balan had a very emotional part of her life when she went through rejection for 3 long years before putting herself back together again. “The fire inside me kept me from giving up. Every night, I would cry and tell myself, ‘This is the last night I’m giving up.’ But by morning, I would rise again. I prayed a lot, and that gave me strength,” she revealed.
Because of the 'bad luck' tag, directors began replacing her with other actresses in their films. Vidya actually confessed she had been thrown out of many films because of this rumor.

Vidya recalled one incident when she was working for a Tamil film, where the producer refused to meet her. Later she discovered that she had been taken out of the film. The producer had claimed, “I checked her horoscope, and she’s unlucky.”
Vidya further stated how her parents landed in Chennai to confront the producer. All the producer had to say was: "Does she even look like an actress?" Vidya always nurtured a desire to becoming an actress since childhood. She had once said that she dedicated her pursuit to be like Madhuri Dixit after seeing her in Tezaab.
After so many movies being shut for her, Vidya started hating not just those surrounding her, but herself as well. "I fought a long battle with my body. I started to hate it, and I was really angry," she admitted. But Vidya finally worked on her fitness winning hearts with her incredible acting in Bollywood.
