Matthew Perry’s Former LA Home, Now Owned by Indian-Origin Woman, Escapes Wildfire
Anita Verma-Lallian announced in a post on Instagram that the previous home of Friends' late actor survived the damage on January 10.

Matthew Perry’s Former LA Home: This is the house located in the Pacific Palisades where Friends actor Matthew Perry passed away recently. The wildfires swept through Los Angeles and devastated several thousand properties in their wake. Indian-origin Anita Verma-Lallian, the new owner, confirmed in a post on Instagram dated January 10 that it was the former residence of Friends actor Matthew Perry that has escaped devastation, said PEOPLE.
"We want to express our deepest gratitude to the brave firefighters, our amazing neighbors, and the entire Palisades community for their help, strength, and support during this heartbreaking time", Anita Verma-Lallian wrote on Instagram.
A spokesperson for Verma-Lallian confirmed to PEOPLE that the realtor Brooke Elliott Laurinkus, who sold her the house, also played a key role in keeping a track and guarding the house from the fires.
Anita Verma-Lallian also thanked Laurinkus on behalf of informing them, for helping all those who have been in need of temporary accommodation. She nudged her followers to contribute to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.
The real estate developer and movie producer closed the property in an off-market deal one year after the sudden death of Mathew Perry.
She informed followers about the acquisition and using the house as a holiday home via an Instagram post on 31 October 2024.
Reportedly, being a Hindu, Verma-Lallian performed a customary blessing ceremony when she acquired the house. She also hinted about keeping distinct features of the house, such as the Batman logo in the pool, referring to it as a "paradise filled with light."
In 2020, Perry purchased the 3,500-square-foot house and did a fair amount of renovation to it, The New York Times reported.

Families return to search ruins for memories:
Tremendously fiery havoc has erupted within and outside Los Angeles, leaving many still recovering in smouldering neighborhoods. Calmer winds enabled firefighters to start gaining some control of the biggest blazes in metropolitan LA on Friday before gusty weather returns over the weekend to an area that has not seen rain in more than eight months. But by Friday evening, new evacuations were ordered in an area that includes part of Interstate-405 after a flare up on the eastern side of the Palisades Fire.
Bridget Berg, who was at work and saw on TV her house burn down in flames in Altadena, returned with her family for the first time two days later "just to make it real."
Their feet crunch over the shards of what had once been home to them for 16 years.
