Leaked Video Shows Interviewers’ Private Chat: Candidate Lacked ‘Oomph’ in ‘Honest Feedback’

Leaked Video Shows Interviewers’ Private Chat: One of the women interviewed on Zoom felt she did alright. However, much later, she learned something appalling.

The interview was filmed with the Fathom app and she mistakenly was sent not just the recap but also a video of the chat between the interviewers. The executive director complimented her saying that he liked her and she was a chill person after signing off.

Nonetheless, the director that they hired was very critical of her and termed her as the weakest of the three other applicants. It even "was like drawing teeth", she said.

It appeared that the executive director concurred and claimed that she was pedestrian, maybe just good in paper.

“Her energy was muted,” he said. “She might be a function of what looks good on paper... and lacking some energy."

"Energy, drive, curiosity, you know... she could perform on the job but I was looking for a little more 'oomph'," the new director added.

The new director then informed the executive director that they ought to interview her personally so that they could know whether they could pick up a vibe on her.

The two interviewers jocularly also spoke about another applicant after talking about her, about a team dinner and even about the problem of a board members having to dogsit. The Reddit user was feeling off with the arrogant manner in which the new director was acting, as well as the fact that the executive director followed her on every point.

It then was a twist in the story. It was on the same day that she was presented with her actual dream job in a properly respected organisation she had desired months before. As relieved and amused she felt, she did not choose to attend the second round with the first company.

“I will not be going to the in-person interview at that sh*tty office, but I think we should have a little fun with this, no? Also, who's free on the 20th to rock up for the team dinner?” she joked.

The social media responds

She received responses of other Reddit users to her post. One of them believed that the unintentional feedback can be good.

“This is actually great for you. Interviewing is tough and getting honest feedback on interviews is even tougher. This will help you improve moving forward,” the user wrote.

“I used to walk into interviews trying to “act” the way I thought the company wanted me to. Over time, I realised it’s far better to show up as myself. If they don’t like me for who I am, then it’s simply not the right fit,” wrote another.

“Two worst hires I had both were enthusiastic during the interview. One enthusiastically deleted production data,” came a sarcastic comment.
