KL Rahul’s Quick Thinking: Signals Axar Patel for Starc Strategy in Unseen Clip from DC’s Win vs RR
Really, KL Rahul's foresight had been crucial for a Delhi Capitals triumph over Rajasthan Royals in super nail-biting Super Over triumph.

KL Rahul’s Quick Thinking: Yes, a most remarkable game took place on April 16, 2025, at Arun Jaitley Stadium when Mitchell Starc rampaged through the batting line-up after having become a part of two back-to-back heroics as the Delhi Capitals wrested victory in a nail-biting Super Over against Rajasthan Royals. Sometime ago, a certain clip trending on social media proposed that Starc was the other man who had made a monumental impact behind the scene, leaving all the fame to wicketkeeper KL Rahul.

The second ball of the 14th over in Rajasthan's chase of 189 in New Delhi was against left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav against Yashasvi Jaiswal, who had already got his fifty. Just before that second ball, Rahul suddenly signalled his captain Axar Patel and with a slight gesture, modified Starc's position at long-on. The plan worked like a charm.

Kuldeep bowled a full toss to Jaiswal, and the batter could not generate the elevation he required and hit Starc in the deep. This had a significant role when Rajasthan did not chase the target in 20 overs but instead matched it to force a tiebreaker, where Starc flaunted his skills yet again to overcome the visitors.

The astonishing home victory put Delhi atop the points table. They now have five wins in six matches so far, amassing ten points. They had gone on to win four matches before being beaten by the Mumbai Indians just last week at home. But they returned to winning ways on Wednesday. Rajasthan, on their end, has been stuck at eighth spot in the table with just two wins in seven games.
Delhi's next match is in Ahmedabad against Gujarat Titans on Saturday. Rajasthan, on the other hand, returns to home ground to host Lucknow Super Giants on the same date.
