Kesari Chapter 2 Box Office Day 1 Prediction: Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan Film Expected to Open at ₹8 Crore
Box office prediction for Kesari Chapter 2: The Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan starrer confrontational courtroom drama releases this Friday.

Kesari Chapter 2 Box Office Day 1 Prediction: The historical drama Kesari Chapter 2, which stars Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan, is set to be released on April 18. The legal battle waged following the Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1912 has been central to the film and is directed by Karan Singh Tyagi. The movie, with all its star power, is an eagerly awaited offering given the Kesari title. But does it have what it takes to recreate the box office success of its predecessor? Time will tell.

Kesari Chapter 2 box office prediction
Advance booking for Kesari Chapter 2 would commence on Wednesday, exactly 48 hours before the movie's actual theatrical release. Sales, so far, have been very flat. The movie has reported day 1 pre-sales of just under ₹1 crore gross. ₹1.88 crore is the total, taking into account the blocked seats for spot booking. With a little less than 12 hours for advance booking, the numbers should improve, although not too promising for Akshay and Madhavan's starrer.
As per trade sources, Kesari Chapter 2 should see a box office entry of about ₹5-8 crore on day1. The most optimistic estimates predict a domestic net haul of ₹8.50-9 crore, while some very conservative ones predict it may be somewhere just over half of that figure.

How Kesari 2 fares against recent releases
If Kesari 2 sees single-digit collections this Friday, it would even go lower than Akshay's recent release, Sky Force. The aerial actioner had an opening day domestic collection of over ₹13 crore. In a similar vein, Sunny Deol's Jaat earned ₹9.50 crore upon opening in India last week. Either way, however, Kesari 2 may have some trouble competing with those-two. The advantage though that Kesari 2 has over Jaat and Skyforce is that it is not an out-and-out mass entertainer. The courtroom drama is a patriotic saga led by strength of conviction, and such films usually get stronger via word of mouth. The film is also reportedly working on a lower budget than the other two-and that may work in its favour.
About Kesari Chapter 2
Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari Chapter 2 sees Akshay Kumar as C Sankaran Nair, the lawyer who fought the British Raj in court after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Apart from Madhavan, Ananya Panday, Regina Cassandra, Simon Paisley Day, Alexx O'Nell, Amit Sial, and Masaba Gupta make up the cast.
