Kashi Tamil Sangamam venue will be lit with thousands of lamps

A grand Deepotsav was celebrated today at Kashi Tamil Sangam. 5 thousand one hundred lamps were lit in the entire area by the volunteers of BHU NSS and residents of Kashi at the Amphitheater Ground, the venue of the program at BHU. The purpose of this program is that this festival is celebrated with great pomp and enthusiasm by the South Indians. People of South Indian community live anywhere in the world, they celebrate this festival in a very special way. This festival is known as Karthikai Deepam.

Mythology says that Lord Shiva appeared as a flame of light before Vishnu and Brahma, who each believed himself to be supreme. To assert his supremacy, Lord Shiva challenged him to find either his head or his feet. Vishnu took the form of Varaha (Varaha) and went into the depths of the earth but could not be found. Brahma assumed the form of a swan and told that he had identified Lord Shiva with the help of Tajhampu flower. Lord Shiva sensed the lie and cursed that there would be no temple of Brahma in the world and thajampu flower would not be used while worshiping him. It is believed that the day Shiva appeared in the form of a flame before Vishnu and Brahma is celebrated as Karthigai Deepam.

BHU Professor Bala Lakhendra told that this Kartik Deepam program where the children of our National Service Scheme are lighting the lamp is a meeting of two cultural centers. Through this program, we are giving a message to both the states that even today our youth are aware and the Karthikai Deepam program being organized today under Kashi Tamil Sangamam is a symbol of an important and cultural consciousness.
