Even with approval from thousands of supporters, Donald Trump took the oath at the 47th President of United States. The US Capitol building on Monday echoed with deafening cheers as he took the proclamation.
In accordance with custom, Vice President JD Vance was the first to take the oath. Trump met thunderous applause as he came to the podium to deliver the oath of office. It is interesting to note that this was the first swearing-in to take place in the Capitol building in 40 years on account of cold-related issues.
“I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States," he said.
This ceremony marks the beginning of Trump's surprising return to the White House for a second term-four years after he left the city in the aftermath of an assault by his supporters on the US Capitol.
