The Indian pacer achieved a career-defining milestone by taking his 200th Test wicket, solidifying his status as one of the game’s premier bowlers.
The ace paceman from India dismissed Travis Head in the second session of day four of the fourth Border-Gavaskar Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Bumrah had Head caught at short mid-wicket and etched his name in the history book.
Bumrah dismissed Travis Head in Australia’s second innings on Day 4 to reach the landmark in his 44th Test match. This feat makes him the fastest Indian bowler to achieve 200 Test wickets in terms of matches, second only to Ravichandran Ashwin (38 games) in Indian cricket.

In terms of balls bowled, Bumrah (8484 deliveries) is the fourth-quickest in the history of Test cricket after Waqar Younis (7725), Dale Steyn (7848) and Kagiso Rabada (8153).
Bumrah didn't stop there and got rid of Mitchell Marsh and Alex Carey in his next 10 deliveries to dismantle Australia's batting line-up completely. Bumrah now also has the most wickets for India against Australia in Australia in international cricket - 75.
Bumrah has now claimed 29 wickets @ 12.28 in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which is also the most for an Indian pacer in a Test series in Australia.

The recently retired spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was the quickest among Indians to have taken 200 wickets. The legendary bowler achieved the feat in the 37th Test. Ashwin is ranked third in the overall list of bowlers who were fastest to 200 Test wickets, behind two leg-spinners -- Pakistan's Yasir Shah (33 Tests) and Australia's Clarrie Grimmett (36 Tests).
