Infosys Finally Issues Delayed Offer Letters: The global consulting and IT services company, Infosys finally issued 1,000 offer letters for freshers from the 2022 batch.
On September 2, the IT employee union Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) reported that the company had issued the offer letter for 1,000 freshers after 2.5 years of delay.
The chief of NITES, Harpreet Singh said on Monday, “These young engineers, who have been waiting for nearly two years, now have a confirmed joining date of October 7, 2024. This is a huge win for NITES and all the students who stood strong in the face of uncertainty and delay.”
The offer letter was issued to the freshes via an email and in the offer October 7th was stated as the joining date.
These offer letters were for System Engineers, who were assigned positions at the Bengaluru-headquartered company in 2022 and these freshes have to finish their two pre-training in 2024, one of the pre-training sessions already took place on August 19.
The president of NITES also added, “However, we remain vigilant... if Infosys fails to honour this commitment and breaches the joining date, we will not hesitate to organise a protest right in front of the Infosys office."
Earlier, NITES filed a complaint to the Ministry of Labour and Employment against Infosys for delaying the hiring process of these 2,000 freshers who were engineer graduates and were selected for system engineer and digital specialty engineer positions during the recruitment process in 2022-23.
The annual package set to be offered to these new engineer graduates was Rs 3.2-3.7 lakh annually.

This issuing of the offer letter comes after Infosys CEO Salil Parekh said, “Every offer that we have given, that offer will be (for) someone who will join the company. We changed some dates but beyond that everyone will join Infosys and there is no change in that approach.”
A few months ago, the company called the freshers who were assigned positions in 2020 and since then the freshers have complained about the continuous pre-training sessions which have made them feel uncomfortable about the hiring process.
According to the reports, the System Engineer was set to offer an annual salary of Rs 3.6 lakh while the Digital Specialist Engineer was set to offer Rs 6.5 lakh per annum.
