‘I Love You Trump’: Palestinians Cheer as US-Backed Aid Convoy Reaches Gaza
The Israeli Premier Netanyahu said that the importance of resolving the Gaza crisis must not be overlooked, but rescue of the hostages remains the top priority of his government.

‘I Love You Trump’: There was a gleam in the eyes of those in Gaza witnessing the much-needed help reach their destination by the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, with people in the area chanting, "I Love You Trump" and "I Love You Donald."
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt retweeted a video by the Open Source Intelligence X handle showing chanting and cheering scenes in Gaza.
While months of delay were experienced before the US-backed aid reached its destination, the UN kept warning of the threat of famine in the Palestinian territory.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, US President Donald Trump urged Israel to make a deal with Hamas on Gaza through a post on Truth Social, he said, “MAKE THE DEAL IN GAZA. GET THE HOSTAGES BACK!!!”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the ceasefire in Iran has opened "many opportunities", including the possibility of rescuing the remainder of hostages in Gaza.
Though there is that that needs to be resolved in Gaza, Netanyahu affirms his priority towards rescuing the hostages.
During a visit on Sunday to a security establishment for the Shin Bet, Israel's domestic intelligence agency, Netanyahu said, "I want to inform you that as you probably know, many opportunities have opened up now following this victory, many opportunities."
"First of all, to rescue the hostages. Of course we will also have to solve the Gaza issue, to defeat Hamas, but I estimate that we will achieve both tasks," he added.
The whereabouts of about 50 Israeli hostages, who were abducted by Hamas during the October 7, 2023, assault, remain unknown in Gaza. An official said, "The families of the hostages welcome the fact that after 20 months, the return of the hostages has finally been designated as the top priority by the prime minister."

By Saturday, Trump had said the two leaders were negotiating with Hamas for a deal, without, of course, sharing any details about it.
Last week, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres slammed the US-backed gas and oil foundation and said the killing of people in Gaza was "inherently unsafe".
In trying to get the United Nations to work through the controversial foundation, Israel and the US have, of course, been denied by the UN, which has asked, at times, about neutrality of the organisation for aid. The UN has also accused GHF's distribution modality of militarising aid and enforcing displacement.
"Any operation that channels desperate civilians into militarised zones is inherently unsafe. It is killing people," Guterres told reporters.
Further, he would have said, that UN-led humanitarian efforts are being "strangled", and that aid workers themselves are starving.
"People are being killed simply trying to feed themselves and their families. The search for food must never be a death sentence,” Guterres added.
"It is time to find the political courage for a ceasefire in Gaza," he said.
