Guru Purnima will be celebrated on July 21. Guru Purnima falls on Sunday this year.

Time and shubh muhurat 2024

In accordance with Drik Panchang, the Guru Purnima Tithi will start at 5:59 PM on July 20 and will end at 3:46 PM on July 21. Guru Purnima is also known as Vyasa Purnima. The birth anniversary of Veda Vyasa is observed as Vyasa Purnima. Veda Vyasa was an author as well as a character in the Hindu epic Mahabharata.

Rituals of Guru Purnima 2024

• As per Buddhism, on the day of Guru Purnima, the first speech to his first five followers, and formed the sangha or community of disciples, was delivered by Gautam Buddha.
• Hindus wake up early in the morning to offer their puja to the Maha Guru on this day.
• The teachings of the Maha Guru have been cherished and remembered through the recitation of the Maha Gita.
• Padapuja and the worship of sandals.
• On this auspicious day, flowers, gifts, prasad, and charanamritha are parts of the ritual.
• Students pay tribute to their musical mentors to encourage the guru-shishya Parampara.

Significance of the full moon (Purnima) 2024

Guru Purnima is a great time to dedicate and pay tribute to your ‘GURU’ or teacher. Our teacher could be anyone who has been taught us since childhood.
