Goga Navami will be observed on Tuesday, August 27 2024 this year. The Navami tithi will begin at 2:20 AM on August 27 and will end at 1:33 AM on August 28 Goga Navami falls on the ninth day of the Krishna Paksha.

Legends say Goga was born with the blessing of Guru Gorakhnath who gave Queen Bachal of the Rajput Chauhan dynasty a 'Gugal' and the parents kept his name after the gift but many other says he got his name because of his tremendous service to cows.
Goga was the successor of his father King Zewar of the Rajput Chauhan dynasty his kingdom eventually started to be called Bagad Dedga. Goga later got married to Shreeyal Roz the daughter of Tandul Nagari's King Sindha Singh.
He used to ride a horse, holding a spear, and a snake with him, symbolizing his power over snakes, serpents, and other venomous creatures. There are many tales about his bravery and heroic deeds. He is called the protector and worshipped because of his qualities.

On the auspicious day of Goga Navmi visit Goga Mari which are mandirs dedicated to Goga across all the regions he has ventured. The mandir often symbolizes Gogaji’s horse and snake. Devotees should bring sweets, coconuts, and other items for the offering as part of puja.
