It is celebrated on the 13 th day of the bright fortnight in the month of Krishna, which falls in the month of August/ September, every year and on this day, the followers of Vishnu fast and pray to the lord with full faith and belief.
This month Aja Ekadashi will be observed on 11th day of Krishna Paksha of the Bhadrapada month.

Significance
Ekadashi being one of the most important fasting days out there holds a great religious value in the lives of the Hindus.
This day is completely devoted to worshipping Lord Vishnu and on this day devotees perform fasting and pray to Lord Vishnu with lots of devotion and devotion.
Sri Ananda Ekadashi is also known in name of Hari Ekadashi. Basically, there are twoekadashi in a month and this time it is going to be Aja Ekadashi.
Those who fasting day with full determination and spirit gets blessings from lord Vishnu in the form of happiness, good heath, wealth prosperity and all sorts of wish full fillment.
This fast is so powerful that by observing this fast individuals get the same benefits that they can get from Ashwamedha Yagya.
Story
According to Hindu holy books, this fast was performed by King Harishchandra, the king of a prosperous kingdom and the most truthful king but because of his some sins in his previous birth he had to lose his family and Kingdom.
He had to wander from here and there in forest. And once Sukesh met Rishi Gautam and then he narrated his problem to Gautam and he wanted some advice, thereafter sage Gautam told him about Aja Ekadashi fast and how it could be beneficial for him.
He continued following Rishi Gautam and thus he observed this fast in accordance with all the procedures and rites and thereafter he got his kingdom and his family. After that he began to observe fast on every Ekadashi.

Rituals of Puja
It used to go for a bath early in the morning for them to be regarded as holy.
Then have a wooden plank and fix an idol of Lord Vishnu and on the other side place Shree Yantra which represents Goddess Laxmi.
With the desi ghee light up a diya, show and offer flowers or even a garland put on chandan tilak and offer Tulsi Patra.
The nice lunch before the break that includes Panchamrit, Tulsi Patra, Fruits and Makhana kheer or any other homemade sweets to be offered to Lord Vishnu.
Read or listen to Aja Ekadashi Katha and Chant different Mantras like Om Namo Bhagvate Vasudevaye or you can spend your day chanting Vishnu Maha Mantra.
Ekadashi fast must be observing on Dwadashi Tithi but one can break the fast by having any milk products and fruits and the next day properly break the fast.
They sing Aarti of the god and the Panchamrit is offered to the deity along with the distribution of Prasad among all the family members.
