Faizabad Cantt name changed, Defense Ministry approved

The efforts of MP Lallu Singh paid off. The result of his effort is that now the Cantonment Board office will be known as Ayodhya instead of Faizabad. The MP had requested Defense Minister Rajnath Singh regarding this, which has been accepted by the Defense Minister. The Defense Minister gave a gift to the people here on the eve of Vijayadashami festival. The Defense Minister issued the order.

The MP said that the mandate would be issued after two days. The MP said that after the Faizabad railway station was renamed as Ayodhya Cantt, the public had demanded that the Cantonment Council Faizabad be renamed as Ayodhya. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has won the hearts of the people here by fulfilling the expectations of the people.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, MP from Lucknow, said on Tuesday that he has approved the proposal to change the name of Faizabad Cantt to Ayodhya Cantt. Earlier on October 2021, the Uttar Pradesh government announced the renaming of Faizabad railway junction to Ayodhya Cantt after the approval of the Centre. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had approved the name change.

The UP government changed the name of Faizabad district to Ayodhya in November 2018. In October the same year, the Yogi government changed the name of Allahabad to Prayagraj. Earlier in June 2018, Mughalsarai railway station, one of the busiest junctions on the Indian Railways, was renamed after Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhyay.
