Fahmaan Khan Praises Lucknow’s Rich Culture During Shoot, Says City Offers Plenty of Creative Inspiration
Actor Fahmaan Khan is set to shoot his upcoming series in Lucknow. The architecture and ambiance of the city add to his authenticity in his show, he says.
Actor Fahmaan Khan has been enjoying the feel of Uttar Pradesh capital. Actor is filming for his upcoming serial Shubh Shagun Shehnaiyan in Lucknow despite having a hectic schedule saying that he is "thoroughly enjoying" his time in the set. Talking about his shooting on location, the Iss Ishq Ka Rabb Rakha actor states, “It's been a beautiful experience so far to shoot here, the older part of the city has a charm of its own, good architecture, everything is lovely in the city.” Packed shifts don't allow much opportunity to sightsee, but Khan hopes to see more before her day is done. Our lives are quite busy some days, so I haven't had a chance to explore much in the older parts of Lucknow, but I would love to go more often to the areas we have here. Travelling to the older part of the city is a very special experience because of its so many distinct features.
For an actor, heritage backdrops can be more than just a visual backdrop, Khan believes that performing in real-life locations brings an actor to a different level. “Shooting at existing locations lends authenticity to a performance. The architecture and the environment can help you relate to a scene in an alternate manner. “As actors, we spend a lot of time understanding our characters, and sometimes our environments can help us get into the character, and Lucknow has a lot of that.

There's no trip to Lucknow without exploring its food scene history, and Khan is eager to explore the local food trail before making their way back home. “Talking about Lucknow food, about kebabs and more of Awadhi platter – you cannot visit Lucknow and not experience the food culture of the city because each city has its own unique things to offer!”, he adds.
But he's been getting a pleasant welcome in Lucknow and has been filmed on the streets. I think it's always a beautiful thing when people recognise you and they're coming out and showing you their love. The special thing about these interactions is that you can see how people interact with your work,” reflects Khan. Sure, we need to deal with the stuff while shooting, but I like the love – it’s like a positive to see your work has a connection off screen.
If I were to describe the state of things on set in one word, how would I?,” Khan replies, "Energetic! The set is never dull, and having a crew team that's as enthusiastic as you helps to keep the momentum going, which makes long shoots fun.”
The actor has been able to make the transition with ease from the challenging grind of daily television to web shows. “Television has helped me to learn a lot of discipline and consistency, particularly with short schedules,” Khan says.
By shoot time as it nears the wrap-up, Khan knows exactly what he wants to take home. “Memories, definitely! If I get the chance to take back some local Lucknow specialities, too, I would love to. The people I work with and the experiences I share along the way are what make a schedule memorable.”
