Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis Resigns Over BJP’s Poor Performance in Maharashtra Elections
As a result of its poor performance in the Lok Sabha Elections, the BJP only managed to win only 9 seats out of 48 seats in Maharashtra and some of these seats are Palghar, Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg, Nagpur, and Mumbai North.

Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis Resigns: Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis offered his resignation from the chief minister position as the BJP has performed very badly in Maharashtra.
Along with the resignation, he said that because of him the party wasn’t able to perform well in Maharastra for the Lok Sabha Election.
He says to put him down from his position so that he can focus and work towards making the party stronger before the Maharashtra Assembly elections in November.
As a result of its poor performance in the Lok Sabha Elections, the BJP only managed to win only 9 seats out of 48 seats in Maharashtra and some of these seats are Palghar, Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg, Nagpur, and Mumbai North.
While addressing a press conference, he said, “I was leading the BJP, I take responsibility for such results. I am requesting the BJP high command to relieve me from the responsibility of the government so that I can work hard for the party in the upcoming elections."

He also said that he is not a man person to run away, he will work on a new plan for BJP in Maharashtra and soon will share it with the people.
He further said, “There is mathematics in the election and we are losing. MVA might have got 30 seats but the vote share is almost the same. They have received 2 lakh 50 thousand votes and we received 2 lakh 48 thousand votes.”
He also added that hat the BJP got only two seats in Mumbai, but it got two lakh more votes in total. He also said that there are not many seats with a big number of votes.
A meeting was also held in Maharashtra which was attended by Devendra Fadnavis, the state unit chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule, and many other senior leaders to discuss the bad performance of BJP in Maharashtra.
In Maharastra, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) party won 30 seats while the Congress won 13 seats and the BJP secured only 9 seats.
