Delhi Blast Probe Points to 2008 Blasts, Missing Mujahideen Operative Linked to Al Falah University

The continuing investigation has shown that the Al Falah University in Faridabad, Dhauj that was put under the scrutiny in the Red Fort blast and the white collar terror module case, had long standing connections with terrorists.

In 2008, the Faridabad based university graduate carried out a series of explosions, with a fugitive Indian Mujahideen, Mirza Shadab Baig, a former student of the institution, reportedly stating, PTI reported. A reward of 1 lakh is carried by him as well.

Baig who was a key Indian Mujahideen (IM) operative was suspected of orchestrating the 2008 Jaipur serial explosions, Ahmedabad-Surat bombings and the 2007 Gorakhpur bombings. The report said that he graduated in 2007 with his B.Tech in electronics and instrumentation at the university.

The IM operative vanished shortly after having conducted the blast, after travelling on his authentic passport and he has not been seen since then on September 19, 2008, the day the Batla House assaults in the national capital took place.

The investigating agencies have indicated that Baig is a native of Raja Ka Qila Mohalla in Azamgarh who is believed to have been staying in Saudi Arabia. In 2019, he was last tracked down in Afghanistan (PTI).

The Al Falah University is under investigation after four of its professors and a preacher were caught connected to the car explosion outside the Red Fort on November 10 when 10 individuals died.

As Dr Umar-un-Nabi drove the i20 that carried explosives, which blew up near the Red Fort, Muzammil Ganaie, Adeel Rather and Shaheena Saeed were the major players of the white collar terror plot.

The recent explosion has raised the eyebrows of the investigators over the missing IM operative who was discovered to have had new links between the case and the Delhi Red Fort blast. According to the senior officials, it is not possible to eliminate the connection between two incidents that occurred almost 20 years ago.

Destruction to the ancestral house of Al Falah founder

It has also been closed by the Madhya Pradesh authorities with a demolition notice given to the ancestral house of the founder of Al Falah University Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui who is under investigation of the investigating authorities on the allegations of money laundering.

The Military Headquarters of War (MHOW) Cantonment board in Indore gave a notice to the ancestral residence of Siddiqui telling him to evacuate his ancestral residence within a period of 3 days and then they will start demolishing his ancestral residence.

According to the officials, the Mhow house, which was registered under Hamad Ahmed Siddiqui, the father of Siddiqui, had been declared unlawful almost thirty years ago.

On Tuesday, the Enforcement Directorate arrested Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui and took him to 13 days of ED custody to generate 415 crore by misrepresenting accreditation and statutory status.
