Major challenges for Delhi's new government

  1. Fulfilling promises: Key among the BJP's promises to voters during their campaigning for elections was provision of 2,500 cash to women eligible beneficiaries by 8 March, or International Women's Day. The assurance was made by PM Narendra Modi at election rallies, when he said, "This is Modi's guarantee... From March 8, women will receive money in their accounts." The new government faces the immediate challenge of setting up a speedy distribution mechanism for this within some few months, while hurrying into the next budget meeting necessary appropriation not only for this scheme but also for the promise of 21,000 to help pregnant women.
  2. Air pollution crisis: Air quality hazardous, winter months in Delhi, stubble burning, vehicular emissions, and industrial pollution continue to be serious concerns. The need to implement sustainable measures and enhance green cover, electric vehicles, and waste management, among others, will be the mandate of the Delhi BJP government.
  3. Water and power supply problems: Delhi now suffers from insufficiencies of water in many different areas, along with the intermittent flow it offers, mostly due to the pollution in the Yamuna. On the list of promises by the BJP before the assembly election, clean drinking water and uninterrupted electricity supply were among them. Clean drinking water and uninterrupted power supply during peak summer months must certainly be ensured by this new government as an extension of promises made by the BJP.
  4. Law and Order: Public Safety and Increasing Street Crimes- are important points. Improvement is in reinforcement by the Delhi police through synchronized communication.
  5. Continuing Welfare Schemes: Arvind Kejriwal Rising on Welfare Schemes w.Including Free Water, Free Electricity, and Education in Government Schools Improvement-the New Challenge Before the Government is when These... To a certain extent, the BJP has also promised welfare measures in its Sankalp Patra (manifesto), hence the new government will now be making effort to perform on these fronts while leaving Delhi's coffers intact. The challenge tends toward balancing the requirement of social welfare against fear of fiscal imprudence.
