Deadly India Heat Wave: Doctors Report 110 Deaths, Hypovolemic Shock in Critical Patients
Health Minister JP Nadda on Tuesday said on the extreme heatwave condition in India that he had assigned officials to make sure that all hospitals have special heatwave units to provide people with instant care who are affected by the heatstroke.

Deadly India Heat Wave: India continuously has experienced severe temperature conditions in different parts, especially in Delhi which has led to a rise in heatstroke-related deaths.
As per the reports, a total of 110 deaths due to heatstroke have been recorded so far, and still more than 40,000 people are under treatment due to heatstroke.
The number of deaths is higher in Uttar Pradesh with 36 deaths so far and the rest of the cases are reported in Rajasthan, Bihar, Odisha and Delhi.
Reports say that the temperature in states often revolves around 50 degrees Celsius or above.
CNN also reported that till the end of May, 24 deaths in Delhi, Rajasthan, and Jharkhand were reported. Another report stated, 60 deaths in Bihar and 33 deaths in Uttar Pradesh.
Most of these cases are basically from rural areas where the health facilities are poor.

News 18 reported that Dr Reshu Agarwal, a specialist for internal medicine at Manipal Hospital told them, “The number of cases is definitely higher as compared to previous years. Many more people are falling sick and coming with severe symptoms such as high fever, multiple episodes of loose stools and vomiting. Also, people are taking longer time to recover.”
Doctors report that in most serious cases, people arrive in hypovolemic shock followed by low blood pressure and oxygen levels.
Safdarjung Hospital said that six deaths have been reported from 23 May to 19 June.
However, rural areas are said to have the highest number of cases because most of their work is based outside in the hot sun.
