Chhath Puja 2025: Auspicious Fruits To Offer And Their Spiritual Significance

Chhath Puja 2025: Chhath Puja is a Hindu festival that lasts four days celebrating Lord Surya (the Sun God) and Chhathi Maiya and is primarily celebrated in Bihar, Jharkhand, eastern Uttar Pradesh, and partially in Nepal. Chhath Puja gets celebrated after the Diwali holidays with excitement, fasting, and ceremonies at riverbanks.
In 2025, Chhath Puja will be celebrated during the days Saturday, October 25, 2025, to Tuesday, October 28, 2025. Fruits are very important to the offerings to Chhathi Maiya, as well as Surya Dev. Each fruit carries some symbolic meaning and is chosen for its purity, abundance, and spiritual symbolism.

Coconut for purity and spiritual cleansing. Coconuts are often associated with Goddess Lakshmi and thought to cleanse the soul while helping bring material and spiritual prosperity.

Lemon (Dab Lemon) for peace and clarity. Lemons (Dab Lemons) are high in vitamin C, and are recognized for eliminating negativity and bringing peace. Lemons (Dab Lemons) are a bright color with a sour taste, to bring freshness and vitality.
Water Chestnut (Singhara), synonymous with plentiful prosperity and wellness. As an alternative seasonal fruit utilized in offerings during Chhath, its cooling properties and high nutritional value made it suitable for inclusion on the pratha list.
Pomelo is additionally synonymous with blessings and wellness. Its high antioxidant properties qualify it to be included in the puja when provided for puja for health and divine blessings when offered.
