Bihar Bridge Collapse: Second Bridge Collapse in Siwan, Bihar This Week Sparks Panic
Several videos and photos of the collapsed bridge went viral on social media. The bridge is considered a very prominent bridge as it links the Patedhi Bazar in Maharajganj with Ramgarh Panchayat in Darbhanga.

Bihar Bridge Collapse Second Bridge Collapse in Siwan: Another bridge accident took place over the Gandak Canal in Siwan, Bihar. This marks the second bridge collapse incident in Bihar this year.
As per the reports, the 100-meter bridge that crossed over Gandak Canal broke off from one end which led to the collapse of the whole bridge.
When the bridge fell over the Gandak canal it caused a loud noise that was heard in nearby areas.

The reports from the government said, “The brick wall and pillars connecting the bridge to the approach road weakened after the canal was recently dug. The matter will be probed.” However, no one was injured in the bridge collapse.

People in the area are not happy with the authorities as the bridge was very old and hadn't been properly maintained.

The bridge was built almost 40 years ago when the canal was still being developed.
The residents in the area also face a lot of problems due to the collapse of the bridge as they have to take the long route to get to the nearby towns.
Earlier, another major bridge collapsed at Sikti in Araria which was just recently completed but a little construction work was still left.
The bridge was worth 12 crores and was built by a Central agency and it was 182 meters long, however before it could be opened, only the approach roads on either side had to be built.
