Azerbaijan Airlines Plane Crash: A harrowing video taken by a passenger inside the cabin of an aircraft that crashed in Kazakhstan today has been shared widely on social media, showing the final moments of the doomed plane. Thirty-eight people were killed in the crash near Aktau, an oil and gas hub on the eastern shore of the Caspian Sea.
The Embraer 190 jet, en route from Baku, Azerbaijan, to Grozny, Russia, went down near Aktau after reportedly being diverted due to dense fog.
Tragically, 38 people didn't survive. You can hear the passenger on the video shout "Allahu Akbar" (God is great) as the plane descends sharply. Yellow oxygen masks dangle from seats. Sounds of fear, sobbing, and the gentle ding of the "buckle up" signal fill the space.

Azerbaijan Airlines, the country's flag carrier, said the plane "made an emergency landing" around 3 km from Aktau.
The head legal office in Azerbaijan confirmed that 32 of the 67 passengers got out alive. They made a statement.
However, they said, "We can't share any findings from our investigation yet. We are looking into all potential causes and carrying out required expert checks," according to Al Jazeera.
Azerbaijan Airlines declared a hold on all flights from Baku to Chechnya in Russia until the probe is done, according to the Russian state news service TASS.

The Kazakh transport ministry said the plane was carrying 37 nationals from Azerbaijan, six from Kazakhstan, three from Kyrgyzstan and 16 from Russia.
Images and video from the crash show the plane going down and then exploding as it hit the shore, followed by a huge plume of black smoke. Injured passengers are seen stumbling away from a piece of the plane’s fuselage that remained intact.
The incident appears to have been triggered by a bird strike, Azerbaijan Airlines initially said before withdrawing the statement. "We cannot disclose any investigation results at this time," the office of Azerbaijan's prosecutor general said in a statement.
"All possible scenarios are being examined, and the necessary expert analyses are underway," it added.
"I'll never forget their look, full of pain and despair," news agency AFP quoted a Kazakh woman as saying, who said she was near where the crashed plane and rushed to the site to help survivors. "A girl pleaded: ‘Save my mother, my mother is back there’," the woman recalled.
