Audience Member Reveals: There is a lot of drama surrounding Ranveer Allahbadia and his unrefined joke about the contestant's parents, raised during Samay Raina's show 'India's Got Latent.' An audience member and Mumbai-based content creator stood for what he witnessed on the day of the alleged crime in absentia.

Mohit Khubani noted that Ranveer Allahbadia, being one of the judges on the episode, apologised after the comment was made to the contestant, asking if she was alright with it.
Samay Raina also assured the contestant, who said it was alright. In a now-viral Instagram video, Mohit Khubani said, “The contestant came, Ranveer made the joke. Immediately after, he apologised three to four times, asking, 'Hope you didn't feel bad'.”
“I know this is not my regular content, but I wanted people to know what exactly happened in that episode. I don’t want my favourite creators getting hate for no reason because half of the people don’t even know what happened in that episode like they make sure that kid was comfortable while they make jokes," Mohit Khubani said.

He added that the contestant won the competition that day, and Ranveer Allahbadia went to hug him afterward.
People have been coming down hard on Ranveer Allahbadia, questioning him on his apology, and the consequent firestorm and lawsuits surrounding him.
Supreme Court relief
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court gave Ranveer Allahbadia protection against arrest concerning the FIRs and made scathing comments about his remarks. The apex court called his joke “condemnable and dirty”, stating, “If this is not obscene, then what is? Just because you are popular, you cannot take society for granted.”
For now, the Supreme Court has restrained him from appearing on any such show, thus placing even more restrictions on the already contentious episode.
