Trump Prefers Peaceful Resolution to Iran Conflict Despite US Military Strength, Says Secretary of State
The Trump administration has not yet determined what further steps to take, the Secretary of State said, noting that the President would like to find a diplomatic solution.
“But we would prefer to do it peacefully,” Rubio said, reinforcing Trump's claim for preferring diplomacy over force.
His comments indicate that the military choice is still up for consideration, but the Trump administration has not ruled out diplomatic means to ease the tensions with Iran.

In a Saturday letter to Iran's armed forces, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei urged them to have a "response that is immediate, impactful, and geographically unrestricted" to any "level or type of threat" that might arrive from Iran.

Reports from The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times indicate the US military is preemptively preparing for the possibility of renewed action against Iran after the November 3 midterm elections, although America has yet to confirm it has plans to take a fresh swing at Iran.

According to Tucker Carlson, Trump is in a position to be pressured by Netanyahu into launching nuclear strikes against Iran.
As the war continues, Tucker Carlson, a conservative media figure, has warned that this week Trump might order a nuclear strike against Iran, claiming Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pushing Washington to return to military action against Tehran.
Carlson, who has long been a close ally of Trump but has turned into a vocal critic, made the statements in a post on X on Sunday.
He indicated that Netanyahu was trying to convince Trump to rejoin the U.S.-Israel military offensive against Iran, which could include the underground complex at Pickaxe Mountain, near Natanz in Iran.
Carlson also claimed that after the election results last week, Netanyahu's political fortunes were increasingly tied to renewed US military action.
The Israeli Prime Minister is likely to have trouble forming a government if he lacks the backing of Trump to do so, Carlson said, and thus has a tremendous incentive to go to war.
