Trump Calls Those Choosing AI Over ‘Super Intelligence’ Enemies: Key Details Explained
Trump sent out a stern warning to anyone using the term "Artificial Intelligence" instead of the widely used new and accurate term "Super Intelligence" on October 8–9, 2026. President, the President DONALD J TRUMP.
In a post on his political messaging platform, Truth Social, U.S. President Donald Trump said the White House would consider “Artificial Intelligence" (AI) to be “THE ENEMY!" if that was not “Super Intelligence" (SI). This is a controversial statement, coming from a formal, government-wide branding initiative to redefine the federal government's terminology for next-generation computing technologies.

WHAT TRUMP SAID
Trump sent out a stern warning to anyone using the term "Artificial Intelligence" instead of the widely used new and accurate term "Super Intelligence" on October 8–9, 2026. President, the President DONALD J TRUMP.
The President has not listed any formal legal repercussions or actions that would be taken against private citizens or companies that continue to use the old schoolboy term. Rather, critics and political commentators see the message as a “no-bullshit” loyalty test and a brand marketing campaign.
The post is based on a formal executive order signed by Trump on 29th September, 2026. The order mandates that all federal departments and executive branch agencies replace “Artificial Intelligence" (AI) with “Super Intelligence" (SI) in all public statements, official correspondence, websites, policy documents and reports.
Trump outright insisted that the term “artificial” makes the technology sound “fake”, or less powerful than it really is, preferring “Super Intelligence” to get the job done.

THE RESPONSE
Explicit reference to SI was made in relevant Justice Department court documents and its official website, AI.gov, was redesigned to prominently include SI.gov (which still has the same web domain). A new federal Super Intelligence Force (SIF) has also been formed, headed by DNI Jay Clayton.
The rebranding movement grew in momentum after a senior level White House tech summit meeting between Trump and top business figures such as Elon Musk, Sundar Pichai, Mark Zuckerberg, Jensen Huang and Dario Amodei.
SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk unveiled on X (formerly Twitter) that his artificial intelligence team would be renamed SpaceXSI. In a Fox News interview, Jeff Bezos expressed his preference for “SI”, stating that “artificial” isn't a good word to describe.
A significant amount of criticism has been leveled by tech experts, linguists and fact checkers that the rebranding is a complete miss in that it is mixing up different scientific terms.
Marketing professors and software developers have pointed out that the change in name will be hard to police on a worldwide scale, because “Super Intelligence" has a precise scientific definition, which differs from the way that most commercial software is defined.
