Gautam had complained to the Delhi Police that he had been threatened with death in the name of ISIS Kashmir. After this, the security of his house was increased on Wednesday.
In a complaint sent to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central), it was said that death threats were received from "ISIS Kashmir" on the official email id of Gautam Gambhir at around 9.32 pm on Tuesday, police officials said. In the complaint, Gautam Gambhir had urged to take cognizance of the matter, register an FIR and make adequate security arrangements.
On behalf of the special cell of the police, a letter was written to Google, asking for other related information including the operator of that email ID. Due to which the alleged threatening message was sent. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Shweta Chauhan said that the complaint was lodged on Wednesday on behalf of Gambhir's personal secretary Gaurav Arora at Rajendra Nagar police station. After receiving the complaint, the district police has beefed up security outside Gambhir's personal security and his residence in Rajendra Nagar area. At present the police is probing the matter.
