Sharadiya Navratri 2024 Kalash Sthapana: Navratri is among the most important festivals and holds huge spiritual significance for Hindus. It is celebrated on a large scale with immense devotion all over India.
Shardiya Navratri starts with the ritual of Kalash Sthapana and devotes sown barley or jowar in their horse. This ritual has been followed for a long time.
Barley significance Navratri 2024
Barley holds a huge significance as it is believed if devotees plant barley it brings happiness, prosperity, and abundance. It is also believed that planting barley also shows the blessing of Goddess Annapurna.
According to the legends, barley was the first crop to grow after the universe was created. This is why, it is planted during Kalash Sthapana in Navratri.
During the Sharadiya Navratri 2024 barley is believed to cure illness if planted near sick people.

Sharadiya Navratri 2024 Kalash Sthapana rituals
The Navratri 2024 Kalash rituals begin after selecting the perfect timing for Ghatasthapana, it is said that the perfect timing is the first third of the day.
Then clean your pot properly, and add some coins, betel leaves, and grains inside it, then fill it with water. Place a coconut on top of it or cover it with a red cloth.
Select a proper place in your house for the worshipping where the whole family gathers together to pray.
Then place a clay pot filled with mud and plant the barley seeds in it. It is advised to place the pot in the center of the Kalash Sthapana area as the barley growth will bring growth and wealth.
At last light a diya followed by chanting mantras to seek blessings and invoke Goddess Durga's presence in the Kalash.
