However, initial investigations indicate that he does not fit the description of the assailant in this case.
“A suspect Aakash Kanojia has been detained from Durg, Chhattisgarh. Information about this suspect was received from Assistant Police Inspector Juhu Police Station, Mumbai Police that a suspect is travelling by Jnaneswari Express train and he shared the photo of the suspect,” Munawar Khursheed, IG RPF, Bilaspur said, according to ANI. “The suspect was brought to Durg RPF post and Mumbai Police officials were contacted through video call. A team of Mumbai Police will reach Raipur today to take the charge of the suspect.”
The attacker stabbed Saif Ali Khan multiple times—at least six—as the actor tried to defend his family and staff. He suffered several injuries, including a serious wound near his spine.
Khan was quickly transported to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. Following an extensive surgery, doctors have stated that he is expected to make a full recovery. One of the treating physicians mentioned that a more severe spinal injury could have occurred if the knife had penetrated just 2 mm deeper into his back.
Authorities assert that the primary motive behind the intrusion was burglary. The nanny of Saif Ali Khan's son, Jeh, also informed the police that the intruder demanded ₹1 crore.
The suspect, who is believed to be around 40 years old, was spotted climbing the stairs to Khan's apartment on the 12th floor.

Some police officials came to the shop yesterday (Friday) and took away the CCTV footage. They enquired about the person (suspect). I wasn't aware of what he had done," Hasan, who works at the shop, told PTI Videos.
