Saif Ali Khan Attack: The Railway Protection Force arrested in Chhattisgarh a suspect in the case concerning the stabbing of Saif Ali Khan.
The suspect, Aakash Kanojia, was arrested in Durg, Chhattisgarh. A team from the Mumbai Police will depart for Raipur today to interrogate the suspect.
However, the prima-facie investigation reveals that he does not reasonably resemble the description of the suspect in the case.

“A suspect Aakash Kanojia has been detained from Durg, Chhattisgarh. Information about this suspect was received from Assistant Police Inspector Juhu Police Station, Mumbai Police that a suspect is travelling by Jnaneswari Express train and he shared the photo of the suspect,” Munawar Khursheed, IG RPF, Bilaspur said, according to ANI. “The suspect was brought to Durg RPF post and Mumbai Police officials were contacted through video call. A team of Mumbai Police will reach Raipur today to take the charge of the suspect.”
The assailant reportedly stabbed Saif Ali Khan about six times since the actor was trying to keep his family and entourage safe. He suffered from several injuries including a near-spinal wound.
Khan was transported to Mumbai and taken to Lilavati Hospital. Following a long surgery, the doctors indicated that Khan would recover completely. One of the doctors treating Khan indicated that no spinal injury had occurred after a knife cut through the skin, into the back.
According to police, the sole motive for the intrusion was said to be burglary. The Nanny of Saif Ali Khan's son Jeh is also reported to have told police that after entering the house, the intruder demanded ₹1 crore.
The accused, allegedly around 40 years of age, was seen entering Khan's penthouse on the 12th floor after climbing the stairway.
The Crime Branch also collected CCTV footage from a mobile shop in Dadar, visited by the alleged suspect to buy earphones after he stabbed actor Saif Ali Khan at the raid.

The suspect was last seen at the shop "Iqra".
"He (the suspect) visited my shop and purchased an earphone for ₹50. He gave me ₹100, I returned him ₹50 and he left the shop. Some police officials came to the shop yesterday (Friday) and took away the CCTV footage. They enquired about the person (suspect). I wasn't aware of what he had done," Hasan, who works at the shop, told PTI Videos.
"My boy who works here told me that he gave earphones to him (alleged suspect) and later he. Some police officials came and took the CCTV footage yesterday," said the shop owner, Shakir.
The Maharashtra government had discounted the possibility of any gang's involvement in the crime.
