Russian Domain Linked to Bomb Hoax Email Sent to 100 Delhi Schools: Schools in the Delhi-NCR region were evacuated and closed on Wednesday morning after receiving bomb threat emails.
Currently, Delhi and Noida police are doing bomb disposal and dog searches, and the premises have been evacuated.
Suman Nalwa, spokesperson for Delhi Police, told NDTV that schools which have received bomb threats are taking all appropriate precautions.
On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, the Delhi Fire Services received more than 60 fire calls as a result of the alleged email sent to several schools.
The other officer said, "This is a mischief, a mail has been sent to all schools on such a large scale to spread panic."
There is no need to panic, according to the Union Home Ministry. The threats appear to be a hoax.
The call appears to be a hoax. Delhi Police and security agencies are taking the necessary steps, according to the government.
Rohit Meena, DCP (south west), told The Hindu that almost six schools in the area received a "bomb threat" email at 4 am.

"We have evacuated the schools and checked the premises, but nothing has been found," Mr. Meena said.
A similar email was sent to over 15 schools at once, according to DCP (south) Ankit Chauhan.
The bomb threat emails were a hoax, says Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena.
Mr Saxena added, "The Delhi Police have traced the origin of the emails. I am assuring citizens of Delhi that the police are alert, getting leads, and will take strict action."
It has been argued by principals that such hoax bomb threats have become rampant in the last couple of months, disrupting school hours and creating extreme panic among parents and students, but they claim it is spam mail sent by dissatisfied members of a parents' group disappointed by unresolved issues in school's functioning.

Detection teams, bomb disposal squads, and Delhi Fire Service officials have rushed to the schools.
As a precaution, some schools have sent students home early, even if no threat has been received.
A similar threat at Delhi Police School in RK Puram in February turned out to be a hoax.
Atishi said in a post on X (formerly Twitter), "Some schools have received bomb threats today morning. Students have been evacuated and those premises are being searched by Delhi Police. So far nothing has been found in any of the schools. We are in constant touch with the Police and the schools. Would request parents and citizens not to panic. School authorities will be in touch with parents wherever needed."
In the morning, parents panicked as the messages circulated in school groups on WhatsApp, according to Aprajita Gautam, president of Delhi Parents' Association.
In addition, many schools announced early dispersal, so they shared tracking information of the school buses, so parents knew their children were safe.
